The pests can invade your yard and cause damage to the health, appearance, and natural defenses of your lawn. For example, grubs in your lawn can attack the roots of your grass, and this may result in serious damages with time. Even if you find a few grubs in your yard, you may need a control program to for proper lawn care.

Mosquitoes are also major concerns for many homeowners in the United States. The pests can cause and spread diseases to people and different types of animals in your home. Some of the common medical complications that occur due to mosquito infestation include West Nile Virus, Malaria, and the Zika Virus.

    How Do I Control Grubs?

One of the easiest ways of identifying the signs of the pests in your lawn is when some sections of your turf start dying off. This will result in brown patches and wilting grass. If the grass starts to die off, consider seeking grub control services.

Control programs are more effective when it comes to immature grubs. Their populations vary from year to year. Therefore, consider sampling your lawn first to determine the number of pests available before you move on to treatment.

For example, you can dig up a few pieces of your turf about a foot square. There’re natural and chemical methods of controlling grubs during lawn management. One of the most effective ways is the use of milky spores. The natural bacterium can help in preventing infestations by pests such as the Japanese beetle grubs. However, the establishment of the bacterium in the soil can take years.

Another natural control method is the use of nematodes, which are beneficial microscopic worms. Once they’re introduced into the soil in your lawn, they seek out the pests, and after entering their bodies, they kill them.

The watering of your lawn also affects your efforts to get rid of grubs, especially during the summer. During the season, you’re likely to see the pests stacked on top of each other. They lay a lot of eggs during the summer. Excessive watering during the season will facilitate the making of eggs by grubs.

How Do I Control Mosquitoes in My Yard?

One of the reasons why the pests are major concerns is that they have an intriguing mating pattern. Female mosquitoes only need to mate once to produce eggs up to five times during the summer. After mating, they only need a few days to start laying eggs.

When you look at your yard, you’ll notice that there’re several potential breeding locations for mosquitoes. Only a small portion of stagnant water is necessary for the female pests to lay their eggs. There are several ways of controlling infestations on your own.

One of the DIY ideas involves the use of repellant candles. One of the drawbacks of the method is that they may be ineffective during windy days. You can also plant Citronella or marigolds in your lawn to get rid of mosquitoes.

Some homeowners may also opt for outdoor bug foggers as they can kill mosquitoes and offer temporary relief. However, the effectiveness of the products varies. Failure to comply with the necessary precautions and instructions can be dangerous for the users.

You can also contact professional pest control services to help you get rid of mosquitoes in your lawn. The service providers can offer a one-time-service, which is ideal for special events. Usually, this is only effective for a few days.

Seasonal mosquito control services can also be conducted every few weeks between May and September to lower the population in your lawn. One of the benefits of hiring an expert for mosquito control is that they are skilled and possess the right equipment to get the job done.
